Statement of Faith

1. God

We believe that God is one God in three persons. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God exists as one unified and inseparable being, yet in three persons. He has perfect fellowship with Himself and glorifies Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is perfect in all that He has done, is doing, and will do. He is creator of all that exists, and therefore is sovereign ruler over all creation. God is Holy and Loving at all times. He is immutable and steadfast.  He is omnipotent and omniscient. He is infinitely perfect, and He lacks nothing. He has orchestrated all things from the beginning to the end because He is the Alpha and Omega.

2. Man

Man is created in God’s image, and in the beginning was perfectly innocent and righteous in thought, deed, and action. Mankind was created in perfect fellowship with our creator and enjoyed a relationship with Him. However, man rebelled against God in the Garden of Eden. Now all mankind is inherently sinful and by nature under the wrath of God. Our fallen nature is a result of sin which entered the world through our transgression in the Garden. This fallen nature extends to all people groups across our globe. Every inclination of all mankind is now bent toward sinfulness. As a consequence of our sin, we no longer enjoy perfect fellowship with God. Without God’s intervention in our lives to save us from our sin, through the person and work of Jesus Christ, we will perish and spend eternity in hell separated from God under His wrath.

3. Salvation

Salvation is the redemption of mankind from his fallen nature, back into a relationship with God. Mankind in his fallen nature cannot achieve salvation from sin by his or her own merit or works. Salvation is available to anyone who will repent from their sin, and submit to Jesus Christ as Lord of their life. Salvation can be understood as the Justification, Sanctification, and Glorification of Mankind through surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation is only available through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a perfect life on Earth as both man and God. He then offered His own perfect life as a sacrifice to the Father as propitiation for the sins of mankind. Three days later Jesus rose from grave having conquered death and having secured salvation for His people. Anyone who repents from their sins against God, surrenders to Jesus Christ as Lord of their life, and trusts in His life, death, and resurrection for salvation from their sins, can be saved.

4. The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the perfect inerrant Word of God. The scriptures were written by men and inspired by God. There are sixty-six inspired books constituting the Old and New Testaments. The scriptures are without error and are the full and final written revelation of God to us. God is the author and centerpiece of scripture. Scripture reveals to us who God is, who we are, what we have done, how we can be saved, and how we can pursue obedience to our Heavenly Father. Scripture is the only standard by which all doctrine and other religious sentiments should be assessed and arbitrated.

5. Gender, Marriage, and the Family

Scripture teaches us that God created mankind both male and female with distinctive genders and distinctive gender roles. As such, we believe there are only two Genders: Male, and Female. Through His perfect grace God gave man and woman marriage. Marriage is a covenant relationship designed by God to be enjoyed only between a man a woman until death separates them. All forms of sexuality outside of the confines of a “one-man one-woman marriage” are sinful. Polygamy, Polyamory, Cohabitation, Homosexuality, Bisexuality, Pornography, Adultery, Fornication, and any other form of extramarital sexual interaction is sinful and offensive before God. Both men and women are created in the image of God, and therefore equal in quality, worth, and dignity. Men have been gifted by God to care for and lead their family. Men are to love their wives as Christ loves His Church. Men are servant leaders of their wives and are responsible for leading their family in the pursuit of holiness and worship of God. Women have been gifted by God to be a helper to their husbands. They have the responsibility to submit to the servant leadership of their husbands just as the Church willingly submits to Christ. Being created in the image of God, the wife is equal to her husband. Her role in her family and marriage is pivotal to the function and health of her marriage and family. Both roles of the husband and wife are essential and necessary to the family unit, and are equal in dignity, esteem, and importance.

6. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper have been given to us by Christ Himself. Baptism is a declaration by the believer that he or she is entering into the covenant community of believers worldwide. Baptism is not salvific in nature but should be practiced on any believer who wishes to join the local Church. Likewise, the Lord’s Supper is a declaration by believers that we are eagerly anticipating the return of Jesus Christ for His Bride. It is to be enjoyed as a grace from God by believers in the confines of the Local Church.
